Clarksville, Ark.-University of the Ozarks senior Lea Rana was named the American Southwest Conference East Division Women's Tennis Player of the Week, it was announced by ASC Media Relations Director Greg Weghorst Wednesday.
Rana, a native of Dallas, Texas, had a perfect week at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles against ASC East Division opponents LeTourneau and UT-Dallas. Rana, who dropped just one set, teamed with Briar Vona in a pair of doubles’ wins. She posted a 2-6, 7-6, 6-1 win against LeTourneau’s Brittany Trich April 3. She followed that performance with a 6-1, 6-3 singles’ win over Syliva Brownfield from UT-Dallas April 4. In doubles action, she posted a 8-6 win against LeTourneau and a 8-3 victory against UT-Dallas.
She is a graduate of Bishop High School.
