Clarksville, Ark.-East Texas Baptist overcame a 41-40 halftime deficit to upend the Lady Eagles 94-86 on Thursday night in American Southwest Conference play.

<#IMAGE:1#>The Lady Eagles (8-16, 6-13) still have a shot at the playoffs, and remain tied with Louisiana College for the fourth and final spot. A win on Saturday against LeTourneau University would guarantee Ozarks the fourth seed out of the ASC East division. A loss on Saturday would mean Louisiana College would have to lose their match-up against UT-Dallas. The Lady Eagles hold the tie-breaker over Louisiana College by virtue of a win over Mississippi College. The Lady Tigers (21-4, 17-3) finished the final 1:26 of the game on a 9-4 run to stave off an Ozarks’ upset. The Lady Eagles held the lead for a short time in the opening minutes of the second half, but could never gain back the lead from the athletic Lady Tigers. A pair of Mandi Carter free throws with 2:49 remaining cut the deficit 81-80, but that would be as close as Ozarks could get. East Texas Baptist got the hot hand in the final three minutes to secure their thirteenth straight win. Jeanne Randall was one of five Lady Eagles in double figures. Randall scored 22 points and grabbed 14 rebounds. Carter followed with 18 points and Savannah Carter added 16 points. Chandra Briggs finished with 15 points and Erica Eneks had 10 points, respectively. Saturday is designated as “Senior Day.” Kara Bartholomew, Mandi Carter, Lindsey Nietert and Jeanne Randall will all be honored following their game.
