Clarksville, Ark.-The Lady Eagles let a 15-point lead slip away but still held on for a 71-70 overtime victory against Hendrix College in their season-opener.

Ozarks held a 51-36 lead with 11:30 remaining and appeared to be in control of the game. But Hendrix (0-1) had other ideas. The Warriors went on a 15-4 run to close the gap to 55-51 with 6:08 left. The Warriors eventually tied the contest, 60-60, to send the game into overtime. Hendrix would score first in overtime, but an April Young three-pointer gave Ozarks a narrow 65-63 lead with 3:10 left. The Lady Eagles then trailed 70-67 before Lacey Phillips hit a shot with under a minute to go. Hendrix would commit a foul with 27 seconds left to send Ashley Teague to the free throw line. Teague calmly sank both free throws to put Ozarks ahead for good.

The Lady Eagles led 39-36 at the half and quickly built a 44-33 advantage on a Young jumper three minutes into the second half. A Chelsea Glasscock three-pointer gave Ozarks their biggest lead of the game, 51-36.

Young scored 25 points on 9-of-18 shooting from the floor. Glasscock came off the bench and hit 4-of-5 from long-range and added 14 points. Phillips totaled 13 points and seven assists.

Ozarks will travel to Bacone College November 16 for a non-conference game starting at 5:00 pm.
