Clarksville, Ark.-The Lady Eagles won their third straight game after earning a 58-46 win over Schreiner University Thursday night in Kerrville, Texas.

Ozarks improves to 4-7 overall and 2-5 in the American Southwest Conference and will face Texas Lutheran University Saturday in Seguin, Texas.

The Lady Eagles used a hard-nosed defense to hold Schreiner (0-11, 0-7 ASC) to just three field goals in the first half and allowed only seven points through the first ten minutes of action. Schreiner shot 3-of-29 (10.8%) from the field to help Ozarks hold a 26-14 halftime lead. Sabrina Goddard’s jumper with 4:06 left gave Ozarks its first double-digit lead of the half. Schreiner made a run early in the second half to cut the deficit to 27-23. Schreiner kept it close for the next four minutes, but Ozarks made a run to take the game’s momentum. Leading 30-25 with 15:54 remaining in the game, Ozarks scored 13 straight points while holding Schreiner scoreless over a five-minute stretch. Schreiner did make things interesting when it got to within six points at the 4:43 mark. The Lady Eagles, however, quickly took control behind a pair of Goddard free throws, a Chelsea Glasscock three-pointer and an April Young jumper.

Young and Goddard each had 15 points and 11 rebounds in the win. Young nailed 4-of-7 from the three-point line.
