Lady Eagles Use Strong First Half In Win

Clarksville, Ark.-The Lady Eagles handed UT-Dallas a 70-62 setback in American Southwest Conference action on Thursday night in Richardson, Texas.

Ozarks (3-19, 3-16) took a 36-31 lead into halftime and would out score the Lady Comets (7-15, 6-13) 34-31 in the second half to seal their third conference win of the season. The Lady Eagles held a 47-36 advantage with 14:23 left in the game when Jeanne Randall hit a three-pointer. UT-Dallas would battle back and cut the deficit to two points on two different occasions following Randall’s basket. A pair of layups by Olivia Fisher with under eight minutes to play gave Ozarks a 56-50 lead after UT-Dallas had cut the deficit to 52-50 just minutes before. Ozarks also benefited from a 7-of-10 free throw shooting performance with under one minute remaining to secure the win. Ozarks got 21 points from bench play and went 19-of-25 (76%) from the free throw line. Fisher led the team with 18 points. Randall and Lindsey Nietert each had 13 points. Lori Moon added 10 points. Fisher and Randall collected 9 rebounds apiece. Randall recorded 5 steals in the win. Ozarks will travel to Tyler, Texas, to face UT-Tyler on February 12.
