Clarksville, Ark.-The Lady Eagles overcame a 28-18 halftime deficit and went on to a 62-50 win over University of the Dallas in the University of Dallas Classic Friday in Irving, Texas.
Ozarks (1-1) will face Austin College Saturday in another non-conference tilt at 2:00 p.m. The game began with little offensive output from either team as the two combined to score just nine points in the first nine minutes of play. An Ashley Teague three-pointer tied the contest at 12-12 with 7:34 left in the first half, but the University of Dallas came back to outscore Ozarks 26-6 the rest of the way. A Kayla Quertermous three with 4:54 remaining would be the final points for Ozarks in the half. Ozarks shot a dismal 5-of-33 (15%) from the floor in the first twenty minutes of play, but it was a much different story in the second half as the Lady Eagles hit 51 percent of their shots. On the opening possession, Ally Goddard nailed a three-pointer to begin a 23-0 run over the next six minutes. A stunned Crusaders (0-2) team got within single digits only a few times the rest of the game. Ozarks built a 54-39 advantage with 4:55 remaining when Kristyn Shinn sank a three-pointer.
Sabrina Goddard had a huge second half, scoring 16 of her team-high 20 points in the final twenty. She also had nine rebounds. Ally Goddard had 10 points.
