Clarksville, Ark.-Louisiana College snapped an 11-game losing streak as they handed the University of the Ozarks women's basketball team a 84-78 loss in American Southwest Conference action on Thursday night.
The Lady Eagles (9-9, 7-7) had trouble stopping a balanced Lady Wildcat (3-13, 3-11) team that shot 51 percent in the first half and ended the contest with all five starters in double figures. Ozarks had a 48-36 rebounding edge, but it was Louisiana College that found way to pull off the upset. The Lady Wildcats forced 18 turnovers and limited Ozarks to 42 percent from the field. Olivia Fisher hit 9-of-16 of her shots and scored a team-high 21 points. Mandi Carter followed with 16 points. The inside duo combined to shoot 60 percent from the field. Lindsey Nietert had 10 points. Fisher led the team with 4 steals and Carter had a team-best 7 rebounds. Erica Eneks had 6 assists. Ozarks will travel to Clinton, Mississippi, to face Mississippi College on January 28. Mississippi College leads the ASC East Division with a 15-1 overall mark and a 13-1 league record.
