Clarksville, Ark.-The Lady Eagles fell behind 3-0 in the first half and were unable to recover as Lyon College took a 4-1 non-conference victory Wednesday afternoon.
Lyon College (5-0-0) remained unbeaten with the win while Ozarks falls to 3-2-0. Lyon scored a goal in the 10th minute and then added another in the 14th minute to set the tone early in the match. Monica Ayala scored again in the 38th minute to lead Lyon to a 3-0 halftime advantage. In the second half, Vicky Romero scored her eighth goal of the season when she shot one over the keeper’s head in the 57th minute. However, Ayala countered with her third goal of the match, this one coming in the 75th minute, to complete the hat trick.
Ozarks had six shots in the match. Mary Eoff made eight saves in goal.
Ozarks will host Williams Baptist College September 14 at 3:00 pm.
