Clarksville, Ark.-The Lady Eagles couldn't hold onto a late lead as Austin College took a 75-65 win in American Southwest Conference play on Monday.
The Lady Kangaroos (7-4, 5-4) outscored the Lady Eagles 52-33 in second half play to take a key ASC victory over Ozarks. Ozarks held a 32-23 advantage at halftime behind a strong rebounding effort led by Olivia Fisher and the three-point shooting of Becky Kimball. Ozarks held a 26-17 rebounding advantage at intermission, with Fisher collecting nine boards, and Kimball hitting 3-of-4 (75%) of her treys. The Lady Eagles, however, stumbled late in the second half after maintaining in the lead for most of the contest. Austin would take the lead for good, 61-59, with 3:29 remaining after hitting two free throws. Erica Eneks and Lori Moon each had 14 points for Ozarks. Kimball finished with 12 points and Fisher recorded 12 rebounds. Ozarks will host UT-Dallas in ASC action on January 13 at 5:30 p.m.
