Clarksville, Ark.-Adrian Rogers' game-tying goal in the first half wouldn't be enough as McMurry University scored three second half goals to claim a 4-1 win over the Lady Eagles in American Southwest Conference play Friday.
McMurry (1-6-0, 1-2-0 ASC) scored the match’s first goal, but Rogers tied it 1-1 in the 31st minute on an assist from Kaitlyn Williams. McMurry countered with an early goal in the second half, and then added another in the 81st and 88th minutes to stave off an Ozarks’ rally. The Lady Eagles (0-7-1, 0-2-1 ASC) did create opportunities to score in the second half, including taking 11 of their 17 shots, but couldn’t put one past McMurry goalkeeper Hillari Chambers. Rogers posted five shots, while Kristi Gordon and Abby Kern each recorded four. Williams had a pair of shots.
Morgan O’Neil had nine saves for Ozarks.
Ozarks will face Hardin-Simmons University tomorrow at 2:00 p.m.
