Lady Eagles Split With Arkansas Tech

Clarksville, Ark.-The U of O Lady Eagles softball team split with Arkansas Tech University on February 20 in Russellville.

The Lady Eagles collected 11 hits in a 7-2 win. Ozarks held a 3-2 lead through five innings of play and exploded for four runs in the sixth to pick up the victory. Regan Brown, Leigh Thompson, Sarah Fielder and Amanda Luney paced Ozarks with two hits apiece. Fielder, Aimee Jondro and Shannon Rainbolt recorded two RBI each. Luney picked up her first win of the year after pitching a complete game. The Lady Eagles were shutout 2-0 in the second game after Tech scored runs in the second and third innings. Ozarks left nine runners on base in the game. Brown led Ozarks with two hits. The Lady Eagles will begin American Southwest Conference play in the ASC crossover tournament in Irving, Texas, on March 7 when they take on Concordia University and Texas Lutheran. Ozarks will play Howard Payne and Mary Hardin-Baylor on March 8.
