Clarksville, Ark.-The Lady Eagles snapped a 13-game losing streak with a 4-3 win over LeTourneau University in game one Saturday in American Southwest Conference action.

Ozarks (4-20, 2-8) rallied for four runs in the fifth to break a 0-0 tie and then held off a LeTourneau (12-13, 5-7) rally in the bottom half of the frame to secure a game one victory. LeTourneau came back in game two and picked up a 5-1 win.

Ozarks’ rally in game one was started by a Colbey Russo walk. Sarah Otteman and Julie Wilkinson followed with singles to load the bases for Kayla Harris. Harris promptly delivered a two-run single to center field to put Ozarks up 2-0. Danielle Dirks added an RBI single in Ozarks’ next at-bat. The scoring rally continued when Kelsey Mefford recorded a sacrifice fly to put another run across. LeTourneau came back in the bottom half of the inning to make it 4-3, but it wouldn’t be enough as Ozarks closed the door on a comeback.

Stephany Henson (2-11) received the win in five innings of work. Mefford received the save.

Dirks finished 3-for-4 to pace Ozarks at the plate.

The Lady Eagles were not as fortunate in game two, as LeTourneau plated a pair of runs in the first and second inning to post a win. With LeTourneau leading 2-0 after one inning of play, Ozarks got one run back in the top of the second. However, the Lady Eagles were unable to manufacture another run in the next five frames.

Henson took the loss after tossing six innings.

Emily Burns went 2-for-3.

The Lady Eagles will travel to Richardson, Texas, to face UT-Dallas in a double-header April 7.
