The Department of Education announced a further delay to release batches of FAFSA information (ISIRs) to schools until the first half of March.

Lady Eagles Split Twinbill With Hendrix

Clarksville, Ark.-The Lady Eagles took a 15-4 win over Hendrix College in game one of Tuesday night's double-header, but the Warriors used a seventh inning rally to upend Ozarks, 5-4, in game two in Conway.

Ozarks (8-6) pounded out 22 hits and Sarah Otteman drove in five runs in the game one. With Ozarks holding a 1-0 lead in the first, Otteman collected her first RBI when she doubled in Danielle Dirks. Ozarks held a 3-2 advantage after two, and increased it to 5-2 after recording three hits in the third. In the top of the sixth, Ozarks padded their lead to 9-2. Otteman tripled in a pair of runners to highlight the inning. The Lady Eagles did more damage in the seventh, scoring five runs on six hits. Ozarks had five straight hits to open the inning, with Otteman again notching a pair of RBI. Julie Wilkinson doubled in Otteman and Nicole Ashley for the finals runs of the inning.

Otteman paced Ozarks with a 3-for-5, 5 RBI performance. Wilkinson finished 4-for-5 with 2 RBI. Jessica Pianalto, Chelsea Joslin and Dirks each had three hits.

Stephany Henson (3-4) went the distance and struck out two to receive the win.

Hendrix (5-15) got a two-out RBI single to break a 4-4 tie in the bottom of the seventh to secure game two’s win. The Warriors held a 3-0 lead after two, but Ozarks stormed back to take a 4-3 lead in the top of the third. Pianalto drew a walk and eventually scored the first run of the inning when she crossed the plate on a wild pitch. Otteman doubled in Dirks to make it 3-2. In Ozarks’ next at-bat, Cassie Saorrono delivered a two-run single to give Ozarks a 4-3 advantage. Hendrix, however, manufactured another run in the fifth to tie it at 4-4.

Hendrix out hit Ozarks 15-5. Ashley went 2-for-3 to lead Ozarks. Saorrono had a team-high 2 RBI.

Brittany Thompson went five innings and struck out four. Otteman pitched one and two-third innings in relief. Otteman (0-1) suffered the loss.

Ozarks will host Central Baptist College on March 27 in a double-header beginning at 2:00 p.m.
