Clarksville, Ark.--The Lady Eagles finished with a 1-1 record in American Southwest Conference play over the weekend in Abilene, Texas.
The Lady Eagles (3-11-0, 3-6-0) were defeated 8-0 in their match against the #12 ranked Hardin-Simmons Lady Cowgirls (12-1-0, 10-0-0) on Saturday. The Cowgirls jumped out to a 3-0 advantage at halftime and added five more goals in the second half to remain undefeated in conference play. Lindy Swatzell recorded all three shots for Ozarks. On Friday, the Lady Eagles turned in their top road performance of the season in a 5-1 route of McMurry (2-11-1, 2-7-1). Ozarks scored three first half goals, with two coming from Lindy Swatzell. Swatzell scored in the 17th minute and the 18th minute to give Ozarks a comfortable 2-0 lead. Jessalyn Halsted added a goal in the 38th minute for their third goal of the half. Swatzell again added a goal in the 62nd minute and Cayenne Carter recorded her first collegiate goal of her career in the 74th minute. Swatzell had nine shots, including seven shots on goal. Ozarks will host Concordia-Austin on October 22nd and Mary Hardin-Baylor on October 23rd. Saturday’s match against Mary Hardin-Baylor will be designated as "Senior Day." All seniors and their families will be recognized prior to each match. In their final two games, Ozarks will travel to Kerrville, Texas, to face Schreiner University on October 30 and Seguin, Texas, to take on Texas Lutheran University on October 31.
