Clarksville, Ark.-The U of O women?s basketball team stormed back from a double digit second half deficit and took a 65-64 lead late in the game only to have Texas-Tyler escape with a 78-69 American Southwest Conference win Saturday.

The Lady Eagles (1-3, 0-1 ASC) trailed by as many as 23 points in the first half and went into intermission facing a 44-31 deficit. But Ozarks fought its way back into the game behind a 6-0 spurt in a span of less than one minute at the midway point of the second half. Texas-Tyler (3-1, 1-0 ASC) then went in front 60-51 at the 11:33 mark, but Ozarks climbed within 62-57 behind a layup and a three-pointer by Jordana Andrews. RaShelle Goldman later made an inside shot to cut the deficit to 64-61 and then Ozarks made four free throws to eventually move ahead 65-64 with 5:12 left. However, Texas-Tyler went on a 10-0 run over the next four minutes to secure the game. The Lady Patriots also hit 21-of-25 (84%) from the free throw line in the game.

Taylor Farmer led Ozarks with 24 points and nine rebounds. Tamara Wilkett finished with 12 points and Goldman added 10 points.

Ozarks will host East Texas Baptist University December 2, Hardin-Simmons University December 5 and Texas-Dallas December 7. Each game will be carried live on KXIO 106.9 FM and on U of O’s athletic department’s Ustream channel.
