Clarksville, Ark.-The U of O women's soccer team traveled to Batesville on Saturday to face Lyon College in non-conference action.
The Lady Eagles (2-1-0) recorded a 4-1 win over the Lady Pipers. Brandi Sliger, a freshman forward from Royal, Arkansas, scored two goals and recorded one assist to lead Ozarks to their second win of the year. Sliger scored her first goal in the 8th minute to tie the match at 1-1 and later nailed her second goal in the 81st minute. Freshman Nicole Simpson recorded the assist on Sliger’s first goal. Senior Katie Lien opened up the second half with a goal in the 46th minute. Sliger tallied the assist. Simpson then scored in the 77th minute to push the score to 3-1 in favor of the Lady Eagles. Kate Schoenhals received the assist. Junior forward Lindy Swatzell would record the assist on Sliger’s final goal. Freshman goalkeeper Sarah Stratton (2-1) received the win after recording three saves. The Lady Eagles open conference play against Austin College September 12 at home. Ozarks faces Hendrix College in Conway September 9.
