Clarksville, Ark.-The Lady Eagles opened the 2009 season with a 1-0 non-conference win over Central Baptist College Tuesday afternoon at Hurie Field.

After a scoreless first half that saw Ozarks (1-0-0) hold a 9-1 shots advantage, Central Baptist (0-4-0) battled back in the second half and reeled off 10 shots of their own. Ozarks had just one shot in the second half, but it proved to be the most important. The goal came off a corner kick in the 78th minute. After the Lady Eagles knocked it around, the ball went to Roxanne Moody, who fired off a shot from 20 yards out that hit the post and into the back of the net. The game-winning goal was the second of her career.

Four players for Ozarks had two shots apiece. Lori Langman notched the shutout and had seven saves.

The Lady Eagles will travel to Memphis, Tenn., to face Rhodes College September 5 and Cal Lutheran University September 6.
