Clarksville, Ark.-The Lady Eagles opened the game with a 13-0 run and were only threatened on a couple of occasions in the second in Friday?s 73-59 American Southwest Conference win against Texas Lutheran University.
Ashley Barry capped Ozarks (5-3, 3-2 ASC) 13-0 start with an inside shot at the 14:13 mark of the first half. Three minutes later, Ashley Teague drilled a three-pointer to give the Lady Eagles a comfortable 19-4 lead. Texas Lutheran (2-5, 2-3 ASC) did close the gap to 33-25 at the half. Lacey Phillips would carry the Lady Eagles in the first half with 10 points.
The Lady Bulldogs eventually trimmed the deficit to 39-36 at the 15:14 mark of the second half. But Sabrina Goddard scored 12 points in the final 12 minutes of the game to put Ozarks in control. Her basket with 7:16 left gave the Lady Eagles a 58-41 lead.
Goddard finished with 18 points. April Young added 15 points. Lacey Phillips and Ashley Teague scored 14 and 11 points, respectively. Young, Phillips and Teague each hit two three-pointers.
Ozarks will travel to Schreiner for an ASC game on December 10.
