Longview, Texas-LeTourneau University posted its fourth straight shutout over the Lady Eagles with a pair of easy wins in American Southwest Conference play Saturday.
Ozarks (6-8, 0-4 ASC) was held to one hit in a 7-0 game one loss and then recorded three hits in a 8-0 game two loss.
In game one, LeTourneau (15-5, 4-2 ASC) manufactured three runs in the third inning and didn’t allow a hit until the final inning when Ozarks had two outs. LeTourneau added four additional runs in the bottom of the sixth.
Amber Rollins (4-3) took the loss.
Game two saw LeTourneau starting pitcher Taylor Thibodeaux throw a three-hit shutout. Thibodeaux struck out nine and did not issue a walk. LeTourneau gave Thibodeaux a 4-0 lead to work with after the third inning. LeTourneau would impose the run-rule in the fifth after scoring four more runs.
Whitney Price (1-3) took the loss.
Ozarks will host Hendrix College March 12 and Louisiana College March 15-16.
