Clarksville, Ark.-The Lady Eagles had their best effort of the season in a 3-1 win over Schreiner University Saturday in American Southwest Conference play.

The Lady Eagles (1-8-0, 1-3-0 ASC) outshot Schreiner (0-7-1, 0-4-0 ASC) 11-6 in the match and had their highest scoring output of the season. Freshman forward Haley Gilliam got things started for Ozarks with a goal in the 16th minute. The speedy Gilliam raced past one defender in the open field and then hit a nifty shot past the keeper to give Ozarks a 1-0 lead. Schreiner fought back to tie the contest in the 39th minute, a score that would remain 1-1 heading into the half.

Ozarks had another strong half against Schreiner with MaKenna Piha scoring a goal off a corner kick in the 73rd minute. Gilliam wasn’t done as she scored again in the 77th minute to secure the match. Kanisha Eckart received the assist on a perfect pass in transition.

Gilliam posted three shots on goal and Erin Summerton recorded a team-best four shots.

Mary Eoff had three saves.
