Clarksville, Ark.-The UT-Dallas Lady Comets defeated Ozarks 80-73 in American Southwest Conference play on Monday night.

The Lady Comets (4-9, 3-7) opened the game with the first shot and never looked back as they improved to 3-7 in ASC play. UT-Dallas stormed out in front in the first half, holding a 33-12 lead with 8:02 remaining, but took just a 38-35 advantage into intermission. The Lady Eagles (2-11, 2-8) cut into the deficit when they went on a 23-5 to finish out the first half. Lindsey Nietert, Becky Kimball and DeAnna Miller all hit free throws late in the first half to help the cause. However, the Lady Comets slowly drifted their lead to double-digits in the second half thanks in part to a strong performance from the free throw line. UT-Dallas hit 16-of-20 (80%) in the final twenty minutes to seal the victory. Olivia Fisher ended the contest with another double-double as she recorded 22 points and grabbed 14 rebounds. Nietert and Lori Moon each scored 14 points. Erica Eneks added 11 points. Ozarks will host UT-Tyler in ASC action on January 15 at 1:00 p.m.
