Clarksville, Ark.-Behind the strong inside play of center Mandy Thomas, the Lady Eagles defeated the University of Texas-Dallas 56-42 on Saturday.

The Lady Eagles are now 15-6 and 12-4 in the ASC. Ozarks shot just 30 percent from the field in the game, but managed to hold UTD to 29 percent shooting in the game. Thomas and Christie Shuffield accounted for 32 points in the game on 12 of 19 shooting. Thomas finished with 22 points and 10 rebounds. “Mandy came back from the Dallas game where she scored 5 points and played well,” said Jones. “Mandy has proven to be one of the best post players in the league. Our inside players did a fine job of taking the ball to the basket aggressively.” Despite not shooting well from the field, Jones was pleased with the team’s effort. “We just didn’t have a good day shooting,” said Jones “But, I thought our teams showed a lot of character today because they found a way to win.” Lacey Johnson had 6 points on 2 of 5 three-pointers and had 7 rebounds.
