The Department of Education announced a further delay to release batches of FAFSA information (ISIRs) to schools until the first half of March.

Lady Eagles Drop Four To Louisiana College

Clarksville, Ark.-No. 2 Louisiana College handed the Lady Eagles softball team four losses over the weekend in American Southwest Conference action.

Brittany Thompson (7-5) tossed a five-hitter in game one of Friday, but the Wildcats (31-3, 16-2) edged Ozarks 3-1. With Louisiana College leading 2-0 after one, the Lady Eagles (11-17, 4-12) got a solo home run from Sarah Otteman to make it 2-1. Ozarks took the Wildcats down to the wire, but Louisiana College manufactured a run in the bottom of the sixth to pull out the game.

Thompson went the distance and struck out four. Four different Ozarks’ players had a hit. Otteman now has three homers this season.

Louisiana College opened the second game on Friday with a four-run first en route to a 9-0 win.

Ozarks collected just two hits. Stephany Henson (3-9) suffered the loss.

Louisiana College used a five-run fourth to earn a 8-0 win in game one on Saturday. The Wildcats held a 2-0 lead after the third frame, but extended it to 7-0 after taking advantage of two Ozarks’ errors in the fourth. The Wildcats had just three hits in the fourth.

Ozarks had two hits in the game. Thompson absorbed the loss.

Game two on Saturday saw Louisiana College take a 4-0 victory after breaking a scoreless game in the third. The Wildcats got three hits in the frame and scored three runs. The Wildcat pitching staff again limited Ozarks to two hits. Henson took the loss.

Ozarks will host Mississippi College this weekend in a four-game stand beginning Friday at 2:00 p.m.
