Clarksville, Ark.-College of the Ozarks took a 33-15 halftime lead and went on to a 64-41 win over the Lady Eagles Saturday in the Ecclesia College Classic.
The Lady Eagles (1-1) struggled from the field in the first half, making just 5-of-21 (23%) of their field goal attempts. The Bobcats (7-1) also forced 11 first half turnovers and made four three-pointers to keep the Lady Eagles from building any momentum. A Lindsey Louks shot at the 11:05 mark of the first half got the Lady Eagles within 20-10. But the Bobcats rallied for a 13-5 run to end the half. The second half belonged to the Bobcats as it scored from all areas of the floor. The Lady Eagles cut the deficit to 41-20 after an April Young basket at the midway point, but the Bobcats maintained at least a 20-point lead the rest of the way. After hitting 48 percent from the three-point line the previous day, the Lady Eagles hit just 1-of-11 from beyond the arc against the Bobcats.
Young led the Lady Eagles with 18 points. Sabrina Goddard had a team-best 9 rebounds.
