Clarksville, Ark.-Austin College fought their way to a 3-0 win over the University of the Ozarks women's soccer team on Sunday in non-conference play.
The Lady Kangaroos (5-3-1, 0-0-0) came out firing in the first half and managed one goal, a header off a corner kick, to take a 1-0 advantage at halftime. It didn’t take long in the second half for the visitors to score again. Emily Clark found the back of the net just 43 seconds into the second half. Austin College would add another in the 89th minute to push the score to 3-0.<#IMAGE:1#> Ozarks (4-3-2, 1-2-0) did have 5 shots on goal, and got a strong defensive effort from goalkeeper Olivia Fisher, but the Lady Eagles came up scoreless for the second straight match. Laura Spruiell and Kristyn Shinn each collected 2 shots. Fisher had 10 saves. The Lady Eagles will host Louisiana College on September 29 and Mississippi College on September 30 in ASC action.
