Clarksville, Ark.-University of the Texas-Dallas connected on a goal in the first half and then added another in the second half to put away the Lady Eagles 2-0 in their American Southwest Conference opener Saturday.
The Comets (1-3-2, 1-0-0) pounded out 35 shots in the match, and scored both goals on breakaways. Ozarks (1-6-0, 0-1-0) had just one shot in the match, coming late in the first half off a free kick.
Ozarks goalkeeper Lori Langman kept the Lady Eagles in the match by stopping 10 shots.
Ozarks will continue ASC play when they play road matches against Mississippi College September 24 and Louisiana College September 26.
