Lady Eagles Dominate LeTourneau

Clarksville, Ark.--The Lady Eagles came way victorious in their American Southwest Conference season-opener over LeTourneau University on Friday and gave head coach Adam Nirenberg his first victory as a collegiate head coach.

Nirenberg’s Lady Eagles (1-4-0, 1-0-0) blasted Letourneau 8-3. Ozarks’ strong offensive showing was led by Lindy Swatzell and Jessalyn Halsted. Swatzell, the school’s all-time leader in goals and points, scored five goals and recorded one assist in the victory. Halsted scored twice and tallied four assists. Swatzell’s second goal of the game gave her a school record 56 career points. Ozarks jumped out to a 3-0 advantage within the first 12 minutes of the match before LeTourenau closed the gap to 3-2 at the 38:32 mark. Swatzell, however, would score her third goal of the half to make it 4-2. The Lady Eagles out shot LeTourneau 19-9. LeTourneau currently holds a 0-4-0 overall record and a 0-1-0 conference mark. Ozarks will host East Texas Baptist University tomorrow in ASC play. The match begins at 1 p.m.
