Lady Eagles Create Chances, Unable to Finish

Clarksville, Ark.-The Lady Eagles took 15 shots and recorded ten shots on goal on Thursday afternoon against East Texas Baptist University, but were unable to convert any of those chances into goals as the Lady Tigers posted a 2-0 win in American Southwest Conference play.

Ozarks (5-7-0, 0-3-0 ASC) recorded six shots in the first half  and then had nine more in the second half only to have East Texas Baptist (3-3-0, 2-0-0 ASC) score late in the first half to go ahead 1-0 at halftime. The Lady Tigers also opportunities as they had four corner kicks in the first half. In the second half, the Lady Tigers took momentum early scoring in the 47th minute, forcing the Lady Eagles to play catch-up. Ozarks did respond with nine shots in the second half and made Lady Tiger goalkeeper Christina Salas be active and record seven saves. However, the Lady Eagles never found the back of the net and remain winless in conference play. Vicky Romero totaled five shots for Ozarks.

Ozarks will travel to Tyler, Texas, to face UT-Tyler October 11 and Longview, Texas, to face LeTourneau University October 13.
