Clarksville, Ark.-The Lady Eagles avenged a January 27 loss against East Texas Baptist University by taking a key 71-59 win over the Lady Tigers Thursday night American Southwest Conference action.

The Lady Eagles (11-10, 7-9 ASC) suffered a disappointing 60-62 setback against the Lady Tigers (7-12, 5-10 ASC) last week, but got revenge and continue to chase Texas-Tyler (9-10 ,7-6 ASC) for the fourth and final playoff spot in the ASC East Division. Ozarks will decide its playoff fate when it finishes the regular season with four home games. The Lady Eagles will host nationally ranked Louisiana College February 10 and Mississippi College February 12.

Thursday night against East Texas Baptist, Ozarks came out of the game hitting three straight shots to take early momentum. The Lady Eagles built a 32-18 lead on Serena Clokey’s three-pointer with 5:21 left in the half. Clokey was one of four Ozarks’ players to drain a three-pointer in the first half. Ozarks held a 38-26 halftime advantage behind a 7-of-12 shooting performance from long-range. April Young was particularly strong in the first half, making all four of her shots from the field, including two from the three-point line.

The Lady Eagles controlled the entire second half, and let their lead dip below double-digits only briefly. Early on Chelsea Glasscock drilled a pair of three-pointers to keep momentum in favor of Ozarks. Lacey Phillips hit a shot at the 13:25 mark of the second half to increase the lead to 48-32. East Texas Baptist made a push with two minutes left in the game, but Ozarks had already built a 62-50 advantage with 2:36 left.

Young finished with 16 points, while Ashley Teague had 15 and Glasscock contributed 14.
