Richardson, Texas-Texas-Dallas posted a pair of wins over the Lady Eagles behind a 20-hit attack Thursday in American Southwest Conference play.
Ozarks (10-16, 3-11 ASC) narrowly lost game one 2-1 and then suffered a 13-5 setback in game two.
In game one, the Lady Eagles fought back to tie the score 1-1 in the top of the fifth thanks to a Texas-Dallas (13-8-1, 4-4 ASC) error. But the Lady Comets scored the game-winning run in the sixth on a sacrifice fly. The Lady Eagles recorded only two hits in the contest and struck out 11 times.
Amber Rollins (7-5) took the loss.
Texas-Dallas jumped on the Lady Eagles early in game two, scoring three runs in the first and five more in the second. Ozarks got three of those runs back in the top of the third, but the Lady Comets answered with three of their own in the bottom half of the frame to hold a 11-3 advantage. In the third inning for Ozarks, Ali Mathis recorded an RBI double and Heather Roberts had an RBI single.
Mathis, Roberts and Tori Lemieux each went 2-for-3.
Haley McKee (0-1) suffered the loss.
Ozarks will conclude its series with Texas-Dallas tomorrow in a double-header starting at 12:00 p.m.
