The Department of Education announced a further delay to release batches of FAFSA information (ISIRs) to schools until the first half of March.

Lady Choctaws Sweep Ozarks

Clarksville, Ark.-The Mississippi College Lady Choctaw softball team took two from the University of the Ozarks in American Southwest Conference play on Saturday.

Ozarks drops to 13-22 overall and 3-19 in the ASC. Mississippi College improves to 21-14 overall and 12-10 in league action. Mississippi College used a four-run second inning behind two home runs to upend the Lady Eagles 6-1 in game one. Ozarks starter Dana Marvin started strong, striking out the first three batters she faced. But Mississippi College would crank out two homers in the second to give them the momentum they needed to hold onto the victory. Ozarks scored once in the sixth when Jeanne Randall crossed the plate after a Lady Choctaw error. Ozarks had trouble again hitting Mississippi College’s Katie Perry. The Lady Eagles recorded only two hits. Marvin (2-9) received the loss. The Lady Choctaws used a strong sixth inning to earn an 8-0 victory over Ozarks in game two. Mississippi College held a 3-0 advantage after five and added a decisive five runs in the sixth to secure their fourth win of the series. The Lady Choctaws took advantage of five Ozarks’ errors in the game. Ozarks had two hits in the contest. Andrea Mitchell (5-5) received the loss. Ozarks ends the season Sunday when they travel to Conway to face Hendrix College.
