Lady Choctaws Surge In Second Half

Clarksville, Ark.-The Mississippi College Lady Choctaws gained a 78-61 victory over the Lady Eagles in American Southwest Conference play in Clinton, Mississippi, on Thursday night.

Mississippi College (12-6, 9-6) pulled away from the Lady Eagles (2-15, 2-13) in the second half with a late rally that saw the Lady Choctaws turn an eight-point lead with 6:08 remaining into a 15-point advantage just five minutes later. The two teams played to a 36-36 score at halftime, with Ozarks shooting an impressive 12-of-12 from the free throw line. Mississippi College, however, would turn up the defensive pressure and force Ozarks into 11 second half turnovers. Ozarks also cooled off in second half play, making only 6-of-19 field goals. Erica Eneks led the team with 23 points and shot 14-of-14 from the free throw line. Olivia Fisher added 16 points and Jeanne Randall chipped in with 11 points. Lori Moon had a team-high 7 rebounds. Ozarks will travel to Pineville, Louisiana, to face Louisiana College on Saturday.
