Clarksville, Ark.- Mississippi College shot 68 percent from the field in the second half to help get a 89-73 win over the Lady Eagles in American Southwest Conference play on Thursday night.

Ozarks (1-21, 1-16) opened the first half with a 14-12 lead, but the Lady Choctaws (14-9, 11-7) fought back to take a 26-16 advantage with 11:40 left. Mississippi College ended the half with a 45-31 lead. 17 first half turnovers haunted Ozarks, limiting their offensive opportunities and giving Mississippi College easy points.

With the Lady Choctaws leading 62-34 with 15:07 remaining in the game, Ozarks made a valiant comeback as they went on a 21-4 run during an eight-minute span to cut it to 66-55. Erica Eneks and Kayla Quertermous did the majority of the scoring as they combined for 34 second half points. Eneks alone had 22 in the second half. Ozarks’ spurt proved to be a little too late as Mississippi College hit 17-of-25 (68%) from the floor in the final twenty minutes of play.

Eneks led the way with 30 points and Quertermous ended with 12 points off the bench. Oliver Fisher snagged 8 rebounds.

Ozarks will host Louisiana College on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. The game has been designated as “Senior Day”, with Erica Eneks and Karen Garcia being recognized following their game.
