Clarksville, Ark.-The Lady Choctaws (13-7, 10-7) took advantage of 31 Ozarks' turnovers in route to a 68-51 victory over the Lady Eagles (2-17, 2-14) in American Southwest Conference play on Thursday night.
Mississippi College held a 25-21 lead at halftime after forcing the Lady Eagles into 17 first half miscues. The Lady Choctaws then went on to shoot 50 percent from the field while holding Ozarks to a 25 percent shooting clip in the second half. Ozarks scored the first bucket of the second half on an Olivia Fisher jumper to cut the deficit to 25-23, but Mississippi College quickly turned their lead into a 13-point advantage six minutes later. Fisher led the team with 13 points and 8 rebounds. Ozarks will host Louisiana College on Saturday, with the women’s game beginning at 1:00 p.m. followed by a Sports Hall of Fame Induction ceremony.
