Julie Richardson Named Female Athlete of the Year

Clarksville, Ark.-Julie Richardson was named the 2002-2003 Female Athlete of the Year at the University of the Ozarks in Clarksville, Arkansas.

The Athlete of the Year award is given to one male and one female student who excels athletically and academically while demonstrating exceptional leadership qualities. Richardson, a member of the women’s tennis and cheerleading team, led the Lady Eagles tennis team to the ASC Championships for the first time in school history this season while helping the squad post a 8-3 overall record. Richardson is a two-time ASC All-East Division first team performer and a two-time All-East Division second team member. She is a four-time team Most Valuable Player and was a member of the ASC All-Academic team for three years. She has served as team captain for the tennis and cheerleading teams. Richardson received the Most Outstanding Cheerleader Award last year. Richardson graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in communications. Richardson is a graduate of Lindale High School.
