Clarksville, Ark.-Texas Lutheran University claimed a 80-70 win over the Eagles in American Southwest Conference crossover action at Mabee Gymnasium Saturday afternoon.

Josh Joyner’s 19 points weren’t enough for Ozarks (3-8, 0-0) as the visiting Texas Lutheran Bulldogs (9-3, 1-0) gave Ozarks their second straight home loss. Joyner, who has led Ozarks in scoring the last five games, played a strong first half scoring 10 points and hitting 2-of-4 from the three-point line. Texas Lutheran held a 37-30 lead at intermission, but the Eagles fought back to take a 46-45 advantage on a Brent Johnson free throw with 13:47 remaining. Ozarks would gain momentum when Brad Johnson’s steal led to a layup and gave the Eagles a 62-56 lead with 6:23 left. Texas Lutheran eventually regained the lead with 3:56 remaining and held on for the 10 point win. Brent Johnson finished with 18 points. Geoff Owens was the leading rebounder with 6. Ozarks continues their home stand when they host Austin College on Tuesday night in their first ASC East division action of the season
