Jordyn Ferrell Named To Capital One Academic All-District Team

Clarksville, Ark.-University of the Ozarks senior cross country runner Jordyn Ferrell was named to the 2012-2013 Capital One Academic All-America Women?s Cross Country All-District Team, it was announced by the College of Sports Information Directors of America Friday.

Ferrell, who also earned the award for women’s basketball, was the team’s top finisher at the University of Dallas Invitational running a 35:12.03 in the 6K event. A native of West Fork, Ark., she placed seventh at the Arkansas D-III Championships. A physical education major, Ferrell was named to the President’s List and Dean’s List at Ozarks. Ferrell is a member of the ASC All-Academic Team for both cross country and basketball. She earned All-Conference honors in basketball following the 2012-2013 season.

The Capital One Academic All-District Women’s Cross Country Team recognizes outstanding NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA student-athletes. To be eligible for Academic All-America honors, student-athletes must have at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) for their career. Freshmen are not eligible.
