Clarksville, Ark.-University of the Ozarks senior guard Jordyn Ferrell was named the American Southwest Conference East Division Women's Basketball Player of the Week, it was announced Monday by ASC Media Relations Director Greg Weghorst.
Ferrell, a native of West Fork, Ark., averaged 16.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, two assists and two steals to fuel conference wins over Texas Lutheran and Schreiner. Ferrell added one block and went 13-of-15 from the free-throw line. She poured in 23 points on 8-of-11 shooting in a 53-44 win against Schreiner. Her play helped Ozarks to its first back-to-back wins of the season.
The 5-foot-9 Ferrell is the conference-leader in free throw percentage (95%) and ranks sixth in scoring (13.3) and sixteenth in rebounding (6.6). She is currently among the NCAA III leaders in free throw percentage.
She is a graduate of West Fork High School where she was named All-State during her prep career.
Ozarks will travel to Belton, Texas, to face University of Mary Hardin-Baylor December 15.
