Clarksville, Ark.- University of the Ozarks senior defender Jarod Thompson was named to the D3Kicks.com Team of the Week, it was announced by D3Kicks.com publisher Matt Wolin.

It is the second individual honor for Thompson this week. He earned ASC Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.

The 6-foot-4, 170-pound native of Jenks, Okla., guided the Eagles (16-4-0, 11-2-0) to a pair of back-to-back shutout wins by limiting the leading scorers from LeTourneau and East Texas Baptist to a combined two shots. Thompson’s strong defensive play in the back also helped the Eagles seal the 2007 ASC regular season championship and the right to host the ASC Championship Tournament. Ozarks has nine shutouts on the season, tied for tops in the league. He has helped the Eagles to a league-low 0.64 goals against average.

Thompson has started in 66 career games for Ozarks. He earned All-ASC Honorable Mention in 2006.

He is a graduate of Jenks High School, where he earned All-State honors as a senior.

Ozarks will host the six-team ASC Championship Tournament November 2-4. The Eagles will play on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. against the winner of the Mississippi College/Hardin-Simmons match.
