Jared Gordon Earns ASC Offensive Player of the Week

Clarksville, Ark.-University of the Ozarks senior forward Jared Gordon has been named American Southwest Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, announced ASC Director of Media Relations Greg Weghorst on Monday afternoon.

<#IMAGE:1#>Gordon, a 6-0, 165-pound native of Plano, Texas, scored two goals in the Eagles’ 3-1 win over Mississippi College on Saturday. His first came in the 54th minute on a rocket shot past the keeper when the score was tied at 1-1. His second came on a header in the 79th minute to give him his team-leading seventh goal of the season. Gordon also notched a goal and an assist in Ozarks’ 4-1 victory over Louisiana College on Friday. On the week, as the Eagles went 2-0, Gordon totaled 10 shots, with seven of those being on goal. He leads the team in points (16) and shots (43). He currently ranks fourth at Ozarks in career goals (26). Ozarks owns a 6-4-1 overall record and a 3-2-1 league mark. He is a graduate of Plano Senior High School where he led the team in scoring his junior and senior season. Gordon and the Eagles will travel to Abilene, Texas, to face McMurry University on October 6 and Hardin-Simmons University on October 7.
