James Seymour Named Hitter of the Week

Clarksville, Ark.-U of O senior first baseman James Seymour was named American Southwest Conference East Division Hitter of the Week following his performance in five recent games.

Seymour, a native of Natchitoches, Louisiana, exploded to hit .750 (12-for-16) over the Eagles’ five games last week, including a .667 performance (8-for-12) vs. East Texas Baptist University in a three-game series. Seymour had four multiple-hit games and totaled five doubles and a pair of home runs, including a grand slam, in five games. His best game came in the ETBU series opener when he went 5-for-6 with two home runs, a double and a modern-day Ozarks single-game record 10 RBI. Seymour currently leads the team in batting (.418), RBI (31) and slugging percentage (.608). His .418 batting average ranks him fifth in the ASC while his 31 RBI place him second in the conference. Seymour is a 1997 graduate of Loyola College Prep High School.
