Clarksville, Ark.-Men's cross country runners David James and Tristan Cooper were named to the American Southwest Conference All-Conference Team after strong finishes at the ASC championships held over the weekend in Clinton, Mississippi.
The top 14 runners at the ASC championships are automatically named All-Conference. James, the 2008 ASC Freshman of the Year, finished sixth at the ASC championship, giving him First Team All-Conference status. James, a sophomore from Parthenon, Ark., is only the second First Team All-Conference selection at Ozarks since 1997. Cooper, a sophomore from Jasper, Ark., finished eighth overall to earn All-Conference Second Team honors. In muddy conditions at the race in Clinton, James ran the 8K in 28:36.44. Cooper ran a 28:46.80.
James, Cooper and Jeremy Provence will head to the NCAA III regionals November 14 in Greensboro, North Carolina.
