Clarksville, Ark.-The Howard Payne women's soccer team held a 2-0 halftime lead and then scored four more goals in the second half to gain a 6-0 win over the Lady Eagles Saturday in American Southwest Conference action.
Howard Payne’s Haley Clanahan scored a goal in the 21st minute and in the 30th minute to help the Yellow Jackets (3-3-3, 2-2-2 ASC) to a 2-0 halftime advantage. Howard Payne later put the match out of reach with four goals within a twenty-minute span. The Lady Eagles (0-10-1, 0-5-1 ASC) did get three shots off in the second half, two of which were on frame.
Ozarks goalkeeper Morgan O’Neil recorded 11 saves. Kristi Gordon had a pair of shots.
The Lady Eagles will travel to Kerrville, Texas, to face Schreiner University October 8 and Seguin, Texas, to take on Texas Lutheran University October 9.
