Brownwood, Texas-After pulling off an upset against Mary Hardin-Baylor the day before, the Eagles fell to Howard Payne 3-2 Saturday in American Southwest Conference play.
Howard Payne (4-4-0, 2-3-0 ASC) built a 2-0 halftime lead and then added another goal in the 52nd minute to control the match. However, Ozarks (4-6-0, 3-3-0 ASC) surged late, connecting on a penalty kick in the 63rd minute and a knocking home a header in the 72nd minute. Travis Murnan recorded the PK, while Logan Hornback netted a goal on an assist from Guido Salas. The two teams combined for 38 shots in the match and Ozarks posted 11 corner kicks.
Neil Thompson had nine saves.
