Clarksville, Ark.-The Eagles shot 55 percent from the floor to roll past Texas Lutheran University 81-70 earning its first American Southwest Conference win of the season Wednesday night.
Ozarks (2-6, 1-3 ASC) hit 16-of-25 (64%) from the field in the first half and held a 41-24 lead at intermission. The Eagles controlled the game from the start, building a double-digit advantage with eight minutes left in the first half. Marcus Bobb, Andrew Cummings and Ronnie Dodd then scored consecutive baskets to give the Eagles a 16-point lead. Both Bobb and Dodd went 5-of-7 from the field and scored 11 points in the first half.
In the second half, Ozarks made 10-of-22 (45%) from the floor. Ozarks owned a 20-point lead five minutes into the second half and later built a 28-point advantage on another Bobb inside basket. The Bulldogs (1-6, 1-3 ASC) made a run late in the game to close the deficit to 70-60 with five minutes remaining, but the Eagles answered with 11 points from the free throw line to secure the contest.
Bobb manhandled the Bulldogs inside with a number of easy layups. He finished with 24 points and 10 rebounds. Dodd added 16 points, while Cummings and Jermery Victor scored 13 and 12 points, respectively.
