Clarksville, Ark.-Senior outfielder Caleb Hilton jacked two home runs to help Ozarks to a 9-6 victory over Hendrix College on Tuesday afternoon in non-conference play.

Hilton opened the game with a homer over the left field fence and then blasted another in the third to propel Ozarks (3-3, 0-0) to its third win over Hendrix (0-4, 0-0) in the past two seasons. Starting pitcher Chase Hale held Hendrix scoreless through three innings before the Warriors put three runs on the board in the fourth. However, the Eagles were holding onto a 6-0 lead going into the bottom half the fourth. The third inning was highlighted by a Brian Heckmann two-RBI double. Following the Warriors’ three- run fourth inning, Ozarks answered with two runs of their own in the top of the fifth after David Smith and Hilton crossed the plate. Ozarks put one more on the board in the sixth. Hendrix then held Ozarks scoreless for the final three innings of play, but the Warriors could only muster two runs in the final four innings. Ozarks’ closer Kyle Hudson pitched one and two-thirds innings and did not allow a run while giving up only one hit to notch his second save of the year. Hale (2-0) received the win after pitching four innings and recording six strikeouts. Hilton is off to a fast start to the 2006 season as he has hit three home runs and has collected 8 RBI. He finished 3-for-6 with three runs and three RBI against Hendrix. Heckmann followed with two hits and two RBI. The Eagles will host Wisconsin-Platteville on February 17.
