Conway, Ark.-A pair of six run innings lifted Hendrix College to a 13-7 win over the Eagles Tuesday night in non-conference play.
Hendrix (19-11) would plate six runs in the third and the eighth behind a number of timely hits.
With the score tied 1-1 heading into the bottom of the third, Hendrix scored six on four hits to take a commanding 7-1 lead. In the fifth, Ozarks (8-19) scored three runs thanks to a Mitchell Powers two-run double and a sacrifice fly by Michael Prusator. The Eagles trimmed the deficit to 7-6 in the sixth after scoring twice, but Ozarks went scoreless in the seventh and eighth innings. It was the bottom of the eighth that secured the win for the Warriors. Hendrix had four hits in the frame, including a three-run homer, to total six runs. Ozarks equaled Hendrix in hits (10-10) and did not strike out, but stranded nine runners in the contest.
Powers finished 3-for-4 with two RBI. Freddy Prince (0-5) took the loss as the starter tossing five innings.
Ozarks will host LeTourneau University Thursday and Friday in a three-game series.
