Hendrix Hands Lady Eagles Loss

Clarksville, Ark.-Hendrix College handed the Lady Eagles an 88-73 loss in non-conference play on Saturday in Conway.

<#IMAGE:1#>The Lady Warriors (5-1, 1-0) led 39-31 at the half despite Ozarks (5-4, 3-2) owning a 25-13 advantage with 9:24 left. It was a Mandi Carter jumper that gave the Lady Eagles the 12-point lead, but soon after Hendrix stormed back to tie the contest at 25-25 with 4:21 remaining. The Lady Warriors finished the final 8:36 on a 22-6 run. Carter kept the Lady Eagles close by posting another strong first half performance. She had 16 points at the break and finished 7-of-10 from the floor in the first half. In back-to-back games, Carter has scored 16 first half points. An Erica Eneks three-pointer at the 19:08 mark of the second half put the score at 41-35 in favor of Hendrix. But the Lady Warriors quickly established an 18-point lead with a 12-0 run over the next four minutes. Hendrix then controlled the remainder of the game and led by double-digits for the final 15 minutes of the contest. Ozarks got as close as 66-53 on a Jeanne Randall jumper with seven minutes left, but Hendrix answered right back with a Tori Huggins layup to halt the rally. Carter finished with a team-high 19 points. Lindsey Nietert contributed 16 points and Randall had 12 points. Eneks added 11 points, hitting 3-of-7 three-pointers. Carter and Randall each had 5 rebounds. Huggins led Hendrix with 33 points. Ozarks will host McMurry University on December 16 in American Southwest Conference play.
