Clarksville, Ark.-The University of the Ozarks baseball team pounded out 18 hits and three Ozarks' pitchers combined for a shutout in the Eagles 16-0 non-conference win over Hendrix College on Tuesday afternoon.

Ozarks’ starter Brian Heckmann gained his first win of the season and limited the Warriors (4-19, 1-11) to just five hits in six innings of work. Heckmann had his offense behind him as Ozarks (11-15, 3-6) led 13-0 when he left the game. Already leading 3-0, Brett Hays smashed a three-run homer in the bottom of the second to push Ozarks’ advantage to 6-0 after two. While Heckmann kept the Warrior bats cool, the Eagles added one run in the fourth and three runs in the fifth behind two home runs. Robby Finnell led off the bottom of the fourth with a solo home run and Hays capped the fifth with a towering shot over the left field fence to make the score 13-0 going into the sixth inning. Ozarks scored three runs in the seventh, two of which came on a two-run homer from Finnell. Heckmann (1-4) struck out eight, one short of his season high. Hays went 4-for-4 with a career-high 6 RBI. Finnell went 4-for-5 with a season-high 4 RBI. Ozarks travels to Tyler, Texas, to face UT-Tyler in a three-game series beginning Friday.
