Hardin-Simmons Slips Past Ozarks

Kerrville, Texas-Hardin-Simmons University slipped past the University of the Ozarks men's soccer team 1-0 in the semi-finals of the American Southwest Conference championship tournament on Saturday in Kerrville, Texas.

The Cowboys scored on a David Salas goal in the 59th minute. Ozarks had their chances in the second half, but couldn’t finish. The Eagles had a pair of opportune shots with less than 10 seconds left in the match, but were unable to get either in the back of the net. The Eagles finished with 14 shots, while Hardin-Simmons had 18. Jared Gordon and Nate Abbott each had 3 shots. Ozarks keeper Brian Sarber had 5 saves. Gordon and Sarber were named to the All-Tournament team. Ozarks finishes the season with a 14-6-1 overall record and a 10-3-0 ASC mark.
